I found this challenge by Brian at Bushboy’s World via Su at Zimmerbitch and thought it was cool so decided to contribute.
I am gonna cheat a little though. The first is the last image on my camera from January 2020 and the second is the last on the ipad.
First is Massonia bifolia, a bulb from South Africa that is pollinated by gerbils and mice in the wild.

The second photo is an extremely unexciting shot of progress of the bathroom refurb which is now entering its fifth week. Storm Ciara has revealed that the scaffolding around the exterior has disturbed something on the utility room roof and we have a soggy floor in there again….

Brian’s challenge rules:
- Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 31st January.
- No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
- You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
- Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
- Tag “The Last Photo”
So glad you joined in Darren. Your first shot is lovely — I love multi-tiered growth like this.
The second — bugger! Hope the problem isn’t major. My mum said this morning she’s lost her fence and an outside wall to the wind and rooves are coming off buildings in her town centre.

Thank you Su.
We have been ok so far. Rain has led to some localised flooding last night but wind not too bad here. Was even out taking photos in the sun this afternoon. Hope your mum stays safe.

Thanks Darren she seem fine; just annoyed at having to deal with workmen to get things fixed. Sound familiar? 😀

Yep! That hassle is worse than the actual damage.

That’s the Big T’s mantra, which is why he seldom allows others to do work on the house — apart from our friendly (and competent) electrician. Luckily he’s quite good at that sort of thing.

I’d be the same but Susan would not trust me to do it. This amuses my colleagues no end because I am the go-to person in our lab for plumbing gas to instruments etc and there is almost no instrument I can’t fix…

That’s a shame. It is incredibly satisfying to fix things (as you know from work).

Hope so. I had pretty much run out of inspiration for my blog which is why I have been taking on challenges to give myself a kick up the proverbial😄

Such a beautiful flower! Not good about the laundry room floor. I hope you are staying dry inside during the storm. Lots of love my friend!

Thank you Lisa. Storm has been uneventful otherwise, thankfully. Hope your forecast snow is as unevenful! Love from me too!😍

Sorry to hear about the soggy floor and that it is taking so long… Lovely photo of the Massonia bifolia. We had a huge snowstorm over here and we are expecting more snow tomorrow. Might make a snowman this weekend just for you!!!!!

Thank you😍. Try to stay warm and safe Dominique but I would be honoured to have a snowman made for me❤

I love this. This flower looks like a green little tower. It’s all in the angle, how you take the picture up close and catch the beauty of nature.

The Massonia bifolia is just brilliant!! And my condolences about that soggy floor – repairs like that are like a saga with no end, right? 😂

Thank you. We now have something approaching a bathroom. Still no sink or floor but the bath and shower etc are in place and the tiles look great. The cabinet has a light operated by an infrared sensor that you just wave your hand at. It could take me months to get bored with playing with it😉

Hahaha! Very understandable! 😄 I’ve seen some very nice bathroom furnishings in IG with octopuses – will send you the pics! 😊
