My lovely and talented friend Sarah (see day 1 for link) started this challenge.
I am going to do this the way Sarah did – a song every day and with a few lines about why I like each artist and song, and why it is significant for me. I am as much about the music as the words by the way, so I have to like both if I include a song.
Please feel free to join in this challenge with your own lists!
‘Dark Therapy’ by Echobelly
The ‘Britpop’ scene of the mid 1990s famously gave us the likes of Blur and Oasis (I exclude Pulp from this as they had been around for a while by then, and Radiohead who don’t fit into any categories). There were also a lot of excellent but less well known bands.
Echobelly are perhaps best known for ‘Great Things’, a single from their album ‘On’. It is a fun song and was voted as my theme song by my blog followers a little while back. However, there are two other songs from the album that I prefer.
I struggled to choose between ‘Dark Therapy’ and ‘Natural Animal’ so I am going to cheat and include links to both. Also check out ‘Something Hot in a Cold Country’.
I must admit, I didn’t know these two songs. I really like Natural Animal.

I’m pleased you like Natural Animal. I really like it too. I read an interview with the band many years ago and it was the song that got Michael Stipe’s attention when they supported REM on the uk leg of the ‘Monster’ tour. X

You really have an exceptional memory. This is the kind of thing that I would have certainly forgotten.

That is the geeky part of me! I can never remember things that are actually useful however…

Cool. New band that I haven’t heard of. Nice all around vibe. Cheers, Darren.

Beginning to see a theme running through your choices. My preference would be Natural Animal.
