After years of resistance and scathing remarks about them, I have finally bought a smartphone. And I even worked out how to set it up without the help of a 12 year old!
You can start making fun of me now Dominique!
In case you were wondering, below is its predecessor…
LOL! I gave in only last year! And at least your predecessor had a camera – mine didn’t!! π Have fun with your smartphone!

Haha, wow! Maybe after awhile you could write a post if your life has changed with a smartphone! I remember my transition, about 6 years ago. It would interesting to hear how others experience it!
See you on instagram π

Wow, Super D has a smartphone now! π π Can we call our super hero when there is an emergency? Can we hope for a few selfies in 2018? Don’t despair, I will make fun of you eventually. Everything in time. π Merry Christmas my friend. All the best to you and your family.

Thatβs great! I remember when I got my parents to switch to smart phones. That was a fun 2 YEARS teaching and researching them. Thankfully you are nowhere near that age and will learn easily. Have fun with it!

Thankfully the basic operation is very similar to the iPad which I am pretty good with! I have a funny relationship with technology. One of my riles at work is database admin and I routinely use highly sophisticated lab instruments. Yet the fax machine scares the hell out of me!

I understand actually. I can use my stuff very easily but give me stuff I donβt use every day and Iβm lost!

I remember my own resistance to the smartphone. It’s wonderful, I don’t know how I got along without it! You are going to love it! Merry Christmas! May you and your family have many blessings!

Ha, ha, I can so relate! I tell my husband I don’t need the newest technology he ends up forcing upon me, then I thank him profusely for getting it for me;) I still go kicking and screaming into each new update though, and usually do turn to one of my sons for help!
Merry Christmas to you and your wife, and Molly!

My other half is worse than me. Total technophobe. I would be the same except that I now have a network of friends on WP that I want to keep up with. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas Jen ππ

It took me forever to break down and get a smartphone, but I have been happy with it:)

I am surprised how quickly I have picked things up so am really impressed with it already. I can see myself turning into a screen addicted overgrown teenager….

Lol there are a lot of things to discover on the phone. Reading blogs keep me glued to my screen.

Congrats on getting your first smartphone!
And also, congrats on not cracking after such a long time. That must take strong willpower π
Although I used to have android phones, I have switched over to the dark side (Apple), and never looked back π

I have a mac and an iPad but just could not justify the extra expense of a iPhone to myself. Especially as I intend to replace my ten year old mac desktop with a macbook soonπ. Did I notice that you have a macbook in one of your posts?

Yes! I do have a macbook at home (and love it!) My family also has an iPad and a mac desktop. Unfortunately iPhones are super pricey, so I can see how android phones are a good alternative!

Thank you for that Sophie. Nice to know you love the macbook. I always like to talk to a user before buying new tech. Only the relatively cheap Macbook Air is in my budget but would do everything I need it to. Also need to look into a solid state external hard drive for backing up photos. This does not seem straightforward. Too many options!

I use my Macbook Air for very general purposes (blogging, writing, very light graphic designing) and it works very well. I’ve also used Photoshop (just the trial version) and my fiance at one point installed some video games on here- we haven’t had any issues! The one thing is that there isn’t enough disk space (I have 120GB) though an external hard drive would solve that issue π

My husband Bill is still holding onto his flip phone. I call it the dinosaur phone. His brother calls it his cub scout phone. I am happy to hear that you have joined the rest of us in modern times. π

Well I take it Bill does not have a lot of new friends and blog comments to keep on top of? I figured a smartphone would enable me to do this during the two hours a day I spend on buses to and from work! Susan is still hanging on to her brick phone which is now apparently a βdesign classicβ…..

Is her brick phone a Nokia? I had one of those in the 90’s and it was indestructible!

It is indeed! The first one that didnt have the little antenna at the top! Still going strong and only needs charging once a week.

Hell and back? Similar. It has been to work and back just like me. I suspect my soul is similarly chipped and tarnished as a resultππ
Thank you lovely friend. Dx
