For Roda’s Critter Connection Challenge
This is apparently Araneus cucurbitinus
Not a great picture as the little beggar kept moving. I am told this is an unusually brightly coloured individual. It is only 1cm long but certainly shone in the sunshine!
I have a few more posts in the planning stages but need to take a break for a few days. Work stress is taking a heavy toll especially and I am feeling decidedly not OK today and just want a long hug.
It is a very nice creature, lovely glow. I am sending you good vibes my friend and a big hug. Stay strong!

Meditation? Yoga? They help me so much when my head is in too many places.

Thank you Martina. I have a night away with work tonight and am hoping a quiet night in a hotel away from everything will help. 😀

It is. I have a lovely cosy room with oak beamed ceilings in an old coaching inn. The downside is it overlooks the main road so it is a good thing I am half deaf anyway! Thanks for the relaxed vibes! 😊

Another spider hater? No wonder the poor unappreciated things hide away 🙁. 😀😀

Wow, I’ve never seen such as fluorescent green spider before! Looks cool, thanks for sharing. 😀

We had never seen one like it either. We think maybe the Heysham nuclear power station a couple of miles away might be involved. Could be giant ants next.

Or worse, giant cockroaches! 😱

I grew up in pubs and clubs with roach and rat infested basements and could tell you some horror stories….

Haha, no thanks, I go for horror stories once in a while but not when it involves cockroaches and rats. 😅

Spiders (& this one is indeed lovely, Darren) I can handle (so long as they’re outdoors or not deadly) – and even mice and rats in small numbers — but now you’ve brought up cockroaches, Nicolle — eeek!

Roaches give me the heebies too (though earwigs are worse) . Thankfully haven’t seen a cockroach for at least twenty years except those madagascan ones in zoos. Not in a rush to see one again either.

Wow! Normally I´m not a big fan of spiders (although I know how much good they do in a garden) but this one looks like right out of a coloring palette! Hope you´re feeling better already but sending you a big hug just in case! 😀

Yeah – it was OK in the end. Pretty much got left alone which is my kind of day! And even though I had only been away for two days it apparently merited welcome-back hugs from my work friends Helen and Jacky. Hugs are always welcome.
