Gorgeous shot! I’m not familiar with Lachenalia pygmaea. Will it grow in a cold zone? Like 4, and 5 toward the south, and maybe 3 on the north side of the house? This is multi-zoned place!
Sorry Linda, zone 8 or 9. It grows through the winter months so won’t stand a lot of frost. Mine are in a greenhouse that I keep the frost out of. That is easy here as the minimum we ever recorded was -8C and most winters we get only a few nights where it dips below freezing.

Sigh… Sometimes I curse this wintery climate we have. No, that’s not true. I ALWAYS curse it! But the summers are sublime.
